2010 - 2011 Chamberlain Scholarships

At Chamberlain, we Invest in you.

Chamberlain will help you identify all your financing options, as well as helping you apply for the financial assistance you need. More than 85% of Chamberlain students receive some form of financial aid. Financial aid is available for those who qualify in the form of federal and private loans, scholarships, grants, and work-study to those who qualify. Contact your student services advisors for more information on all the scholarship options available to you.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL SCHOLARSHIPS

  1. Application for admission submitted to a Chamberlain degree program
  2. Paid application fee
  3. Meets Chamberlain entrance requirements

  4. Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Employees of DeVry Inc. or any DeVry Inc. institution are not eligible
  2. If a student is eligible for a special Chamberlain tuition rate (e.g., military rate, alumni rate or other scholarship), the option that is in the student’s best financial interest will be applied.
  3. Chamberlain scholarships are not awarded to students already receiving a reduced tuition rate or students eligible for other scholarship programs.

    Note: Scholarship recipients are responsible for all other educational expenses.

Next Generation Scholarship

A merit based scholarship providing tuition assistance for recent high school graduates who have shown exceptional academic performance.

$2,500 per semester (up to $7,500)

Availability: Varies by campus, semester, and available funds

Verification Requirements: High school transcripts

Eligibility:
  • Acceptance into a Chamberlain on-site degree program
  • Minimum score of 85 on the Chamberlain admission assessment (A2)
  • Minimum high school CGPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • High school graduation within the last 12 months
  • Personal statement, references, and interview
Continued Eligibility:
  • Minimum 3.5 CGPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Minimum of 12 credit hours per semester

Nightingale Scholarship

A merit and need based scholarship providing tuition assistance for students who have shown exceptional academic performance and demonstrate exceptional need.

$2,500 per semester (up to $7,500)

Availability: Varies by campus, semester, and available funds

Verification Requirements: Transcripts from all institutions attended

Eligibility:
  • Acceptance into a Chamberlain on-site degree program
  • Minimum score of 85 on the Chamberlain admission assessment (A2)
  • Minimum 3.5 CGPA on a 4.0 scale from all institutions attended
  • FAFSA Expected Family Contribution (EFC) falls within
    the range of $0 to $5,000 for initial qualification
    NOTE: Student does not need to meet this criterion for continued eligibility
Continued Eligibility:
  • Minimum 3.5 CGPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Minimum of 12 credit hours per semester

Chief Steward Scholarship

A merit based scholarship providing tuition assistance for students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance and a commitment to community involvement.

$1,000 per semester (up to $8,000)

Availability: Varies by campus, semester, and available funds

Verification Requirements:

  • Chamberlain academic records
  • Documentation of community involvement
Eligibility:
  • A minimum of 12 hours of Chamberlain coursework with a minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale
  • History of involvement in community organizations, Chamberlain organizations, and activities
  • Personal statement, references, and interview
Continued Eligibility:
  • Minimum 3.25 CGPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Minimum of 12 credit hours per semester
  • 48 volunteer hours per semester to Chamberlain campus activities or programs
  Deadline: Friday of week 12 of every semester.  
   
   

Jacksonville Exemplary Scholar and Superior Scholarship Awards

Merit based scholarships providing tuition assistance for recent high school graduates eligible for Florida Bright Futures, Top Academic Scholars, or Medallion Scholars funding.

  • 2010 and 2011 high school graduates
  • Accepted by Chamberlain College of Nursing, Jacksonville, FL on-site program degree programs
  • Eligible for funding in the Florida Bright Futures, Top Academic Scholars, or Medallion Scholars programs by the Florida Department of Education. Criteria set forth in Florida Statutes, Title XLVIII, Chapter 1009
  • Accepts all conditions for continued eligibility as well as terms and obligations for enrollment and repayment as specified for students awarded Bright Futures funding
  Deadline: Application within one year from high school graduation to begin coursework at Chamberlain College of Nursing.  

Note: Award amounts and repayment terms are subject to those legislated and as applied by calendar year by the Office for Florida Legislature for Bright Futures funding for Top Scholar and for Medallion Scholar, and as administered under the Florida Department of Education, Office of Student Financial Assistance. Veteran's Appreciation Grant

A grant offering tuition assistance to new and continuing students who are veterans of the U.S. Armed forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and their respective reserve forces) and are enrolled in the Chamberlain online RN to BSN degree program. This grant may not be used in conjunction with the Yellow Ribbon program.

$500 per session (Up to $4,000)

Availability: Unlimited

Verification Requirements:
  • DD 214 – Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty or NGB 22 – National Guard Report of Separation or Record of Service. (Dishonorable Discharges will not be accepted)
Eligibility:
  • Acceptance and enrollment in the Chamberlain online RN to BSN degree program
  • Not receiving the military tuition rate, employee tuition benefits, AMVETS Scholarship, or any other Chamberlain grant or scholarship
  • Not receiving Vocational Rehabilitation funding from the Veteran’s Administration
Continued Eligibility:
  • Active enrollment in the Chamberlain online RN to BSN degree program
  • Minimum CGPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • If the student withdraws from the institution and has to reapply for admission, military documentation must be resubmitted to reinstate the Veteran’s Appreciation Grant (Prior usage will be deducted from the total grant amount) Note: Current members of the U.S. Armed Forces (those serving on active duty, guard, or reserve) who qualify for the military tuition rate and veterans who received a Dishonorable Discharge are not eligible for this grant.

Working Parent Scholarship

A scholarship for Registered Nurses with dependent children who are looking to pursue their Master of Science in Nursing degree. Decisions rendered no later than one week prior to session start.

$290 per session (up to $3,500)

Availability: Unlimited

Verification Requirements:
  • Copy of most recent federal tax returns
  • Completed Employment Verification Form signed by the candidate’s employer at an eligible institution
Eligibility:
  • Minimum 3.0 CGPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Licensed Registered Nurse
  • Ability to claim dependent children on their taxes per IRS guidelines
  • Application and acceptance into the Chamberlain Master of Science in Nursing degree program
  • Currently working as a Registered Nurse
  • Not receiving any other Chamberlain scholarship
Continued Eligibility:
  • Minimum 3.0 CGPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Minimum of three credit hours per semester
  Deadline: Two weeks prior to session start.  
   
   

Clinical Educator Scholarship

A scholarship for Registered Nurses with clinical experience looking to become educators in a hospital or school setting.

$290 per session (up to $3,500)

Availability: Unlimited

Verification Requirements:
  • Completed Employment Verification form signed by the candidate’s employer at an eligible institution
Eligibility:
  • Minimum 3.0 CGPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Licensed Registered Nurse
  • 5+ years experience working in a clinical or hospital setting
  • Commitment to Chamberlain MSN Educator track
  • Application and acceptance into the Chamberlain Master of Science in Nursing degree program
  • Not receiving any other Chamberlain scholarship
Continued Eligibility:
  • Minimum 3.0 CGPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Minimum of 3 credit hours per semester
  Deadline: Two weeks prior to session start
