Lender/Service List

Choose your lender to complete your (MPN). You will need two complete references, including address and phone number. Please indicate MO for the location of your school in order to choose Chamberlain College of Nursing. You may also need your FAFSA pin number to sign your MPN. Please print a copy of the MPN for your records.

  3. Click on Federal Stafford Loans
  4. Click Ready to Apply (at top of screen) This will allow you to start your Federal Stafford Loan application online.
  • Zero Guarantee Fee - No guarantee fee is charged or subtracted from the loan amount for Stafford borrowers.
  • Zero Origination Fee - No origination fee is charged or subtracted from the loan amount for Stafford borrowers

In addition to zero fees, Sallie Mae Education Trust offers rewards in the student’s Upromise® account:

  • 1% based on the original loan amount after the first 24 payments are made as initially scheduled.
  • 4% based on the scheduled monthly payment amount of each of the first 12 payments made as initially scheduled. Accumulated savings will be deposited into the borrower’s bank account after the first year of repayment to Sallie Mae.

To qualify for these benefits, borrowers simply do the following:

  • Obtain a Stafford Loan from Sallie Mae Education Trust
  • Link their Sallie Mae account to their Upromise account
  • Complete annual online credit education
  • Certify completion of program of study
  • Prior to entering repayment, sign up to receive account information by email and
  • Make the specified number of payments as initially scheduled.

Upromise Loan LinkSM - Students and parents who join Upromise can link their Sallie Mae loan account to their Upromise account and designate all or a percentage of the rewards earned through Upromise to help pay down their eligible Sallie Mae-serviced student loan balances.

Upromise members turn everyday spending into savings for education by shopping with participating companies who will contribute a portion of their qualified spending into their Upromise account. Once borrowers become Upromise members, they can invite family and friends to join and contribute their rewards to the borrower’s Upromise account to increase savings.

Benefit Rehabilitation: If a borrower is delinquent on one of the first 12 payments, they can re-earn the principal reduction benefit by completing a financial literacy tutorial and making the remainder of their first 12 payments on time.


 

The Application Process:

  1. Submit your FAFSA on the Web. If you have not submitted your FAFSA, go to fafsa.ed.gov.
  2. Review your estimated financial aid awards with the financial aid officer at your school.
  3. Determine how much you need to borrow in each loan program. Apply for your Federal Stafford Loan first, using the amounts specified on your award letter.
  4. If you have remaining costs that are not covered by the financial aid on your award letter, you can apply for an Private Loan. Remember to borrow wisely, and borrow only what you need for educational expenses.
  5. When you apply for an Private Loan, you will be told right away if your loan is approved. There is a credit check process, so your loan approval, subsequent interest rate and loan fees (if applicable), are based on your credit status.
  6. To apply for a Private Loan, please refer to the chart below. If your loan is not approved, please call your Student Finance Advisor and let them know. They can help you further in trying to find additional financing for school.
