Gail K. Baumlein, PhD, MSN, RN

Gail Baumlein is the Director of Online Programs and Dean of MSN Programs at Chamberlain College of Nursing, with more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the Ohio State University, and began her career as a registered nurse. After 10 years as an RN, she earned her PhD in education and a Master of Science in Nursing with an adult health specialty and emphasis in nursing education from the University of Akron, and became a nursing school instructor and education technology consultant. Prior to joining Chamberlain, Dr. Baumlein was assistant professor and online instructional designer at Mount Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Baumlein is a nationally renowned and highly sought-after speaker about nursing education, and has published a number of book chapters focusing on nursing education and the use of technology in education. She is chairperson of the Instructional Technologies Task Group for the National League for Nursing. In 2005, she was awarded the Ohio League for Nursing Excellence inTeaching Award for “significant contribution to nursing education in Ohio and the teaching and learning of students.” In 2003, Dr. Baumlein received the Distinguished Nursing Alumni Award from the University of Akron.
