E. Gary Gum-Phoenix Campus Dean

E. Gary Gum is the dean of Chamberlain College of Nursing’s new Phoenix campus; overseeing the implementation of the curriculum, delivery of student services, growing and developing clinical partnerships, and managing the day-to-day operations of the College.
Gum has over 25 years experience as a professional registered nurse with an extensive background in adult critical care. After earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Phoenix, Gum worked and taught in the Maricopa Community Colleges system for over 10 years. Prior to his arrival at Chamberlain, Gum was the Director of Clinical Acquisitions for Southern Illinois University— Edwardsville School of Nursing. In 2007, Gum completed his Parish Nurse certification through Deaconess Parish Nurse Ministries in St. Louis.
Gum’s community involvement includes two years as board president for the Peoria, Arizona Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a member of the Arizona State Hospital Capital Construction Commission and as liaison between the Peoria, Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Luke Air Force Base. Recently, Gum founded the Health & Wellness Ministry at Copper Creek Christian Church in Maryville, Illinois.
