Students with documented physical, visual, hearing, learning, or psychiatric disabilities should contact the Student Support Coordinator to help schedule an appointment with the ADA coordinator on the campus to request reasonable accommodations under the ADA. Students must provide appropriate and verifiable documentation of disabilities for which accommodations are requested. The request with documentation should be made 4-6 weeks prior to the semester in which the accommodation is needed, depending on the disability.

Confidentiality will be maintained concerning any aspect of HIV infection or persons both at risk of infection and for infected individuals. All licensed nurses and nursing students with HIV or HBV who perform invasive procedures are encouraged to voluntarily participate in the Department of Health’s evaluation process. It is the position of the State Boards of Nursing and Chamberlain College of Nursing that all licensed nurses and nursing students with HIV or HBV are entitled to the same reasonable accommodation guaranteed by the ADA. Students testing positive for HBV will sign a waiver with the Academic Advisor stating that the College is not responsible for any illness related to this condition. Only if the student chooses to reveal the fact that they are HBV positive will any College personnel be aware of the conditions; it is confidential information.
