CHAMBERLAIN COLLEGE OF NURSING SPONSORS CONTINUING EDUCATION SERIES ON INFORMATICS
Courses inform nursing professionals of widely-adopted healthcare information technology practices

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill.—April 15, 2011—The healthcare industry is rapidly adopting high-tech tools to improve documentation, manage workflow and improve patient care quality. Recognizing this trend, Chamberlain College of Nursing is sponsoring a continuing education (CE) series on informatics with Nurse.com, a Gannett company.

The series is designed to educate nursing students and professionals about healthcare informatics and technology and how to apply these skills in practice and research. Topics for the online modules include: Nursing Informatics: Leveraging Technology to Improve Patient Care and Jumpstart Your Career in Nursing Informatics.

For students interested in pursuing advanced educational opportunities in informatics, Chamberlain College of Nursing offers a Master of Science in Nursing Informatics Specialty Track led by three esteemed faculty: Toni Hebda, PhD, RN, MSIS; Kathleen Hunter, PhD, RN-BC; and Dee McGonigle, PhD, RN, FACCE, FAAN. This track builds essential nurse specialist skills through coursework that covers nursing informatics, data management, healthcare information workflow and project management.
