Masters of Science in Nursing Online Degree Program
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is a post-baccalaureate professional degree
designed to prepare nurses for expanding roles in healthcare and enhance opportunities
for professional advancement. The MSN curriculum provides core courses in nursing
theory, research, leadership, professional role development, and informatics in
healthcare. In addition to the completion of the core nursing courses, the student
selects one of the three specialty tracks:
- Master in Nursing Executive Specialty Track: Advance your career as a nurse
leader. The MSN Executive Track covers the foundations of organization leadership
including managerial communication, organizational change, and decision-making.
- Master in Nursing Educator Specialty Track: Inspire the future generation
of nurses as a nurse educator. The MSN Educator Track focuses on educational foundations,
instructional methods, program assessment and evaluation, and curriculum development.
- Master in Nursing Informatics Specialty Track: Lead the new high-tech wave in patient care as an informatics nurse specialist. The MSN Informatics Specialty Track focuses on management of data and information, and healthcare information workflow and project management.
All MSN students complete a practicum specific to their chosen specialty track,
