Susan Fletcher, EdD, MSN(R), RN, Professor and National Director of International Studies at Chamberlain College of Nursing, was recently featured in the article for Nurse.com titled “Medical Professionals Responding to the Disaster in Japan”. Sandra Davidson, PhD, MSN, RN, was selected to receive the Excellence in Educationfrom Sigma Theta Tau International, Arizona State University Beta Upsilon Chapter at their May induction ceremony. Sandra was chosen for her important work in nursing education and her contributions to professional nursing practice by her peers.
Patricia Bishop, PhD(c), MSN, RN,co-presented with Max Bishop on “Students as Instructors: The Use of Student-Made Videos as Teaching Tools in the Curriculum” at the International Journal of Arts and Sciences June, 2010 in Salzburg, Austria, June 2010. She attained doctoral candidacy at the University of Akron in fall 2010. She was promoted to Faculty Chair at Chamberlain College of Nursing - Phoenix campus in January 2011.
Joyce Hunter, MSN, MAI, RN, has recently published several posters and podium presentations, including “Development and Implementation of a Clinical Mental Health Scenario with BSN Students at Simulation in Healthcare: Where no one has gone before,” in March 2010, and again in June 2010 at the 9th Annual International Nursing Simulation/Learning Resource Center Conference. She also published a poster on “Security Blanket or Cheat Sheet? The Use of Student Prepared Review Sheets in Exams” for the Nuts and Bolts for Nurse Educators: Strategies for NCLEX Success in August 2010. In addition, Professor Hunter published the poster presentation in “Magic in Teaching: Innovative Strategies in Simulation, Technology and Learning Science” as well as a podium presentation at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Baccalaureate Education Conference in San Francisco, CA in November 2010.
Kathie Kulikowski, MSN, RN-BC, CNE, Valerie Meyer, and Margi Wheeler published the poster presentation “Ready, Set, Connect: Insuring Nursing Student Success in the Virtual Classroom” at the Annual International Nurse Educators Conference in Breckenridge, Colorado, in July 2010 and at the National League of Nursing Education Summit in Las Vegas in October 2010. This group also published the poster presentation“Ready, Set Connect: Enhancing Student Success in Online Learning” at the Ohio League for Nursing Education Summit in Columbus, Ohio in March 2010.
Julie McAfooes, MS, RN-BC, ANEF, presented a poster on “Second Life” at the National League of Nursing Education Summit in October 2010 and at Rutgers Annual Nursing Technology Conference in March 2010. Julie was also inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Nursing Education at the National League of Nursing Education Summit in October 2010.
Ellen L. Poole, PhD, RN, CCRN, CPAN, CNE received the Mary Hanna Memorial Journalism Award from the Journal of PeriAnesthesia Nurses in April 2010 at the National American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses Conference. Dr. Poole and her colleagues, Myrna Mamaril, Jackie Ross, Jonie Brady, and Terry Clifford, were awarded First Place in Research for the manuscript “ASPAN’s Delphi study on national research: Priorities for perianesthesia nurses in the United States,” published in the Journal of Perianesthesia Nursing, 24(1), 4-13.
