Komen Race for the Cure® and in recognition of October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Chamberlain invites you to enter the “Take a Step. Go the Distance.” Scholarship Essay Contest. Nurses play a vital role in breast cancer prevention, detection and treatment, and America needs new nurses now more than ever.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program scholarships:
To help prepare tomorrow’s nurses, Chamberlain will award two $4,000 scholarships – renewable for 3 years*, four $2,500 scholarships and six $1,000 scholarships for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program for both the Addison, IL campus and the Phoenix, AZ campus.

Fast-Track RN to BSN Online Degree Completion Program scholarships:
To help current nurses advance their careers, Chamberlain will also award one $5,000 scholarship, two $2,500 scholarships and ten $1,000 scholarships for the Fast-Track RN to BSN Online Degree Completion Program.

To apply for the “Take a Step. Go the Distance.” Scholarship Essay Contest, complete the enrollment application and your 500 word essay and click “submit.”

The scholarship essay contest ends Sunday, October 19th, 2008. Scholarship recipients will be announced on Saturday, November 22nd, 2008.

*Scholarships will be awarded at $4,000 per year for 3 years based on achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.0 each year and maintain a good standing as a student.
