Chamberlain University College of Nursing Appoints New Houston Campus President — January 8, 2018

HOUSTON – Jan. 8, 2018 – Chamberlain University College of Nursing has promoted Tamara L. Williams, EdD, MSN, RN, to the president of its Houston campus. In her new role, Williams oversees all aspects of Houston campus operations including overall academic excellence, student services and support, operational efficiency, and student success.

A leader in the industry for more than 125 years, Chamberlain serves 30,000 students nationwide and is committed to preparing extraordinary nurses who will transform healthcare. Chamberlain is operated by Adtalem Global Education.

Since joining Chamberlain in 2010, Williams has served in a variety of positions including associate dean of academic operations and, most recently, dean of academic affairs. Williams began her career in healthcare in 1999 as a staff nurse at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Chicago. After working as a nurse for more than 11 years, Williams transitioned to teaching as a full-time faculty member at Rush University College of Nursing.

Williams received her doctorate degree in education from Walden University. She is also a member of several professional organizations including the Illinois Nurses Association, International Nursing Association for Clinical Nursing Simulation and Learning, and Sigma Theta Tau, Phi Pi Chapter.
