Chamberlain College of Nursing and Emergency Nurses Association Establish Education Collaboration
The U.S. population is projected to grow more than 27 percent by 2050, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2012 National Projections. This growth and the rising proportion of Americans with health insurance will increase the demand for emergency care. Emergency nurses treat patients in a variety of related environments, including intensive care units and transportation settings such as ambulances and helicopters.
“Emergency nurses provide complex, acute care in times of trauma and great need,” said JoAnn Lazarus, MSN, RN, CEN, president of ENA. “Our education collaboration with Chamberlain allows our members to live our mission to advance excellence in emergency nursing by preparing them with the knowledge and skills to improve care.”
Through this collaboration, ENA members who meet Chamberlain’s admission requirements can receive a special tuition rate for Chamberlain’s Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) online degree completion option, RN-BSN to Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) online option, MSN degree program including the Family Nurse Practitioner specialty track, Doctor of Nursing Practice degree program and graduate certificate programs. Benefits also include a waived application fee and a designated Chamberlain admissions representative who provides enrollment assistance specifically to ENA members.
“Nurses can have a significant impact on healthcare worldwide and are essential to the delivery of frontline services to people in need of care,” said Dr. W. Richard Cowling, vice president of academic affairs for Chamberlain College of Nursing. “Through our new collaboration, Emergency Nurses Association members have expanded access to education programs that will help them enhance their critical contribution to patient care.”
