Chamberlain University Appoints New Cleveland Campus President — January 31, 2018
CLEVELAND, Ohio – (Jan. 31, 2018) – Chamberlain University has promoted Brenda Spear, MSN, RN, CNS, NEA-BC, FNAP to president of its Cleveland campus. In her new role, Spear oversees all aspects of the nursing program at the Cleveland campus including overall academic excellence, student services and support, operational efficiency, and student success.

Since joining Chamberlain University in 2014, Spear has served as assistant professor and most recently, dean of academic affairs. Spear began her career in healthcare as a staff nurse at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. After working as a nurse for more than 16 years, Spear transitioned to serve as the executive director of patient care services at Summa Health System, before joining Chamberlain University in 2014.
Spear received her bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) from Medical College of Ohio, her master of science in nursing (MSN) from University of Phoenix and is currently enrolled in the doctor of nursing practice (DNP) program through Chamberlain University. She has also participated in several research publications and received certifications and awards such as, Cardiac Rehabilitation & Lipid Management Certification, and Nurse Executive, Advanced Board Certification. Spear also was recognized by Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing with the Nursing Leadership award.
