How Do Clinicals Work in the BSN Online Option?

In the BSN Online Option, you’ll complete your coursework online and gain real-world experience through in-person clinicals at healthcare facilities. Chamberlain coordinates your placements, so you know exactly where to go and when to be there.
Here’s what your clinical experience actually looks like:

• You’ll be assigned to a clinical hub, an approved region where your clinical sites are located
• For each clinical course, you’ll travel to your assigned location for several days
• During that time, you’ll complete 8–12 hour clinical shifts at a healthcare facility
• You’ll gain experience across core areas like adult health, pediatrics, and mental health
• You’ll work alongside faculty and RN preceptors in a variety of healthcare settings
• Your schedule is set in advance to ensure you complete required clinical hours
• Our clinical coordinators handle placement logistics and support you along the way
• Travel is required for in-person clinical experiences. Students are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of transportation, lodging, and meals for clinicals, skills immersions, and other required in-person activities.
