We are already well into the January 2013 session. We have many exciting events to launch this year. Our first class will graduate on Friday, March 1, followed by the second graduating class on Monday, June 24. We will be electing new officers for the Student Government Association (SGA) and launching meetings and activities for members of Sigma Theta Tau International. We will also be organizing the Chamberlain Houston chapter of the Texas Student Nurse Association.
This year we are offering the opportunity for international experiences. We have one student who has been accepted for an upcoming International Nursing Service Project trip to Kenya. If you are interested in the opportunity for international nursing, please contact Professor Stephanie Black at email@example.com for more information.
Likewise, we are offering several student scholarships. Please check your email announcements for details on these opportunities.
Our clinical partners have informed us that there is “something different” about the Chamberlain student compared to other nursing students they encounter at their healthcare facilities. We are very proud of the students who have been in their clinical courses. They are setting a positive and dynamic reputation for themselves and furthering Chamberlain’s reputation.
Some of our clinical partners offer competitive student nurse internships. One Chamberlain student was accepted for the Methodist Hospital student nurse externship and several students were accepted for MD Anderson Cancer Center student nurse externships. We congratulate these students on being selected for these prestigious positions!
I wish each of you the very best for an exciting year and for achieving your goal of becoming a bachelor-prepared registered nurse.
