For the 11th straight year, those surveyed by an annual Gallup poll have ranked nurses the most honest and ethical profession! Of those surveyed, 85% rated the honesty of nurses as very high or high — an all-time best for nursing in the survey.
The high marks should come as no surprise: since nurses were first included on the list in 1999, they have ranked first each year with the exception of 2001, when firefighters took the top spot.
Nurses’ honesty rating was a whopping 10 percentage points above pharmacists, who hold the #2 spot. Rounding out the top five spots for honesty and ethical standards were medical doctors, engineers and dentists.
On the other end of the spectrum, car salespeople and members of Congress received the lowest marks for honesty on the job.
