
Dina M. Hewett, Ph.D., RN, MSN, J.M.
Dr. Hewett serves as the alliance president for the Atlanta and Stockbridge campuses. With over 35 years of nursing experience, Dr. Hewett brings valuable academic, clinical and administrative expertise to the role. Most recently, Dr. Hewett served as the National Associate Dean of Nursing Operations for Herzing University with operational oversight of eleven campuses in eight states.
Dr. Hewett is the past President of the Georgia Nurses Association and also served as the treasurer of the Georgia Nurses Association. Dr. Hewett has served as a peer evaluator for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). She is an AACN-Wharton Executive Fellow. Previously, she served as a board member of the Georgia Association of Nursing Deans and Directors, and a member of the Education Committee of the Georgia Board of Nursing. Dr. Hewett previously served on the Government Affairs Committee of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
Her recent publications include: Fast Facts for the Critical Care Nurse, 2nd edition published by Springer Publishing Company and contributed five chapters in Ackley and Ladwig’s Nursing Diagnosis Handbook, an Evidence-Based Guide to Planning Care, 13th ed.
Dr. Dina Hewett received her BSN from Brenau University, MSN from Georgia Southern University and Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Georgia. She recently completed a master’s degree in law from Liberty University. Her certifications include CCRN – Alumnus, Nurse Executive Advanced and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Dr. Hewett has over thirty years of experience as a critical care nurse and her career has encompassed both hospital administration and academics. During her tenure in hospital administration, she served as the unit manager of the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit and director of nursing of multiple units including critical care, inpatient rehabilitation, and respiratory therapy.
