
Melva Price, MSN, RN
Melva Price began her nursing career working as a licensed practical nurse at a long-term care facility for two years, before obtaining her associate degree in nursing. Prior to Chamberlain, Price worked as a staff nurse for 14 years on a Step-Down ICU before transitioning to the role of ICU Nurse Educator in 2016, where she educated and worked with staff nurses to improve clinical performance in the classroom setting and at the bedside.
Price began at Chamberlain in 2017 and has been in a variety of roles including Nurse Educator in the Center for Academic Success, transitioning to didactic faculty in 2018. Most recently she served as an Associate Dean of Faculty since 2020 where she worked with the campus and Illinois Alliance leadership team to ensure superior student outcomes and campus success. Price became known for her leadership skills by being awarded the Adtalem Excellence Award for her demonstration of TEACH values. Price transitioned to the role of the Interim Addison Campus President in September 2023, where she will oversee campus operations and student success.
Melva Price obtained a licensed practical nursing degree in 2000 and her associate degree in nursing from Rock Valley Community College in 2003. She received her Masters in Nursing Education with a focus on education from Walden University in 2016. She is currently completing her Doctorate in Nursing Education with a focus on Educational Leadership with an expected graduation date of May 2024.
