Dr. Julie Siemers brings more than over forty years of invaluable experience and proficiency in nursing across various domains including practice, education, and executive leadership in the healthcare sector. Her expertise in nursing is deeply rooted in extensive involvement in acute critical care both as a practitioner and in leadership roles.
For the past fifteen years, Dr. Siemers has played a pivotal role in shaping nursing education, serving as a distinguished executive leader at some of the largest nursing universities nationwide. Through her unwavering commitment to excellence, strategic vision, and exceptional leadership skills, she has effectively steered these institutions towards achieving significant academic and operational milestones.
Dr. Siemers holds a Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from Touro University, Nevada. Her graduate and doctoral research projects identified ‘Failure to Rescue’ as a priority to incorporate into healthcare education curriculum to address the patient safety crisis in healthcare.
Demonstrating her dedication to enhancing patient safety, Dr. Siemers authored “Surviving Your Hospital Stay: A Nurse Educator’s Guide to Staying Safe and Living to Tell About It”, aimed at enlightening and educating patients and their families. Furthermore, she has been a featured speaker at prestigious healthcare conferences including the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, National League for Nursing, NISOD, and Sigma Theta Tau International Biennium.
