Kathleen Pinto, PhD, MBA, MHCM, RN
Dr. Kathleen Pinto is the President of Chamberlain University’s North Brunswick Campus. She brings almost thirty years of experience in nursing, leadership, and higher education.
Dr. Pinto has spent her nursing career working in both New Jersey and Florida primarily in community health, neurology, and pediatrics, and continues to actively practice nursing. During her career she worked in several hospital systems including St. Peter’s University hospital, Meridian Healthcare System, and RWJBarnabas. Dr. Pinto has served in academia as a faculty member, and in leadership roles including Dean of Nursing, Program Chair, and Subject Matter Expert for undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Dr. Pinto most recently served in education at Rasmussen University where she contributed to the creation of Curriculum Based Education courses for the doctoral and masters’ programs. Additionally, she held roles including Doctoral Advisor/Chair, and facilitator for Executive Leadership, Nursing Education, and Population Health.
During her career, she has contributed to the nursing profession through her active research in debriefing following high fidelity simulation. In addition to her current research, Dr. Pinto has presented on community health issues to several public and private organizations in the U.S. and internationally including the Global Council on Nursing and Health Education as a Scientific Committee Member and Keynote Speaker. She has been politically involved in the State Nurses Association as a forum committee member. Dr. Pinto has also volunteered as a practicum mentor for nursing students at several local and national universities. She has been recognized for excellence in practice and education by organizations including the National Society for Leadership and Success, Sigma Theta Tau, and Delta Mu Delta. Her research interests include Business, Research, Nursing, Administration, Education, Simulation, and Population/Community Health.
Dr. Pinto earned her PhD, Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She earned her Master of Business Administration and Master of Healthcare Management from Capella University. Her undergraduate degree in Social Science was earned from Ocean County College and Diploma in Nursing from Ann May School of Nursing.
