Educational Leadership

Our online DNP Educational Leadership focus area is specially designed for RNs who hold a master’s degree and seek to advance their training as a nurse educator. It will prepare you to teach and lead future generations of nurses for leadership roles within the healthcare field through education, workforce development programs and quality improvement initiatives. 

The elective focus area coursework is all online, allowing you flexibility and autonomy while being completed.

No MSN? You can still apply!

If you are a registered nurse with a BSN and a master’s degree in a field other than nursing, the following is required to apply:  

  • A current, active and unrestricted RN license in the U.S. or in a jurisdiction that is an associate member of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCBSN)
  • The ability to complete the six designated core nursing courses (18 credits) at Chamberlain, transfer in the equivalent courses and/or submit a portfolio demonstrating your achievement of course outcomes
  • A copy of your official transcript 

DNP Admission Requirements

Take the first step toward a DNP with our simple and streamlined admission process. You can choose from six program starts per year. At Chamberlain, we offer options for entry into our DNP program no matter where you are in your educational journey.  

If you are a registered nurse with a BSN and an MSN, you’ll need the following to apply:

  • A current, active and unrestricted RN license in the U.S. or in a jurisdiction that is an associate member of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN)
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for your nursing master’s degree  
  • A copy of your official transcript
