LCMC Health© Called-to-Care Scholars Program Hybrid Option
Our innovative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree Hybrid Option for Called-to-Care scholars allows students to complete their general education courses online while science and nursing courses are completed on campus at Chamberlain University College of Nursing Jefferson Parish course location at 4224 Houma Boulevard, Suite 6000, Metairie, LA 70006.
The BSN Degree Hybrid Option for Called-to-Care scholars offers the following great benefits:
- Virtual blended curriculum including asynchronous courses (instructor facilitated but not taught in real time) and synchronous courses (instructor led in real time)
- General education courses can be completed online while science and nursing courses must be completed on-site.
- Onsite nursing labs and simulation experiences utilizing the skills labs and high-tech SIMCARE CENTER™
- Direct patient care experiences with onsite clinicals
- Academic support services
Additionally, the BSN degree provides:
- Opportunity to earn a BSN degree in as few as three years of year-round study
- Comprehensive faculty, administrative and clinical support to achieve goals
- Engaged, experienced nurse educators and clinicians who understand what it takes to pursue a career in nursing

LCMC Health’s Called-to-Care Scholars Program awards up to three years of paid tuition and other eligible fees to eligible new students for Chamberlain’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree Hybrid Option at Chamberlain University College of Nursing Jefferson Parish course location at 4224 Houma Boulevard, Suite 600, Metairie, LA 70006. in the New Orleans metropolitan area, pending regulatory approvals. Additionally, these scholars will commit to an up to three-year employment pledge3 to LCMC Health upon graduating and passing the NCLEX-RN® to provide care for underserved communities in the New Orleans metropolitan area. Through the alliance, LCMC Health is offering educational funding for new Chamberlain students in the form of forgivable tuition assistance. This opportunity is open to all eligible applicants across the United States, who will be required to relocate4 to Louisiana prior to their first required onsite experience, which is dependent upon their individual curriculum plan, if they currently live out of state.
LCMC Health's Called-to-Care Scholars Program will cover all tuition, which is inclusive of the tuition, fees and charges related to the BSN Degree Hybrid Option (per credit hour costs, student services charge, course resource fee, and student injury and sickness insurance plan) in accordance with the terms set forth in Chamberlain’s academic catalog, enrollment agreement and student handbook.
Tuition shall not include costs associated with room and board; books and supplies; health screening and immunizations; clinical-related background check, drug screening and/or fingerprint scan; other clinical fees; fees other than those listed above; and transportation. The application fee and fee for initial background check, drug screening and/or fingerprint scan will either be waived for enrolled students or refunded once they are selected for the LCMC Health scholars program.
Up to 100% of the tuition payments (including accrued interest) can be forgiven if the work commitment (as outlined in the Program Description and Recipient Agreement) is completed.

Students participating in LCMC Health’s Called-to-Care Scholars Program will complete their onsite science and nursing classes coursework exclusively at Chamberlain University College of Nursing Jefferson Parish course location at 4224 Houma Boulevard, Suite 600, Metairie, LA 70006.
Students participating in LCMC Health’s Called-to-Care Scholars Program will be enrolled in a hybrid model, which delivers degree coursework via a mix of online and onsite modalities. All science and nursing courses as well as nursing simulation and clinical training will be onsite and in-person, while general education courses will be delivered online.
Students in the BSN Degree Hybrid Option can access student services in-person and/or online. Students enrolled in LCMC Health's Called-to-Care Scholars Program will receive these services exclusively online and Chamberlain University College of Nursing Jefferson Parish course location at 4224 Houma Boulevard, Suite 600, Metairie, LA 70006. These services include, but are not limited to, admission services, student services, tutoring, library services, etc.
No. At this time, continuing students are not eligible for LCMC Health’s Called-to-Care Scholars Program. The scholars program is open to eligible new students and Chamberlain students that have sat out of classes for six or more consecutive sessions (readmit students) from across the country. While the scholars program is only available to new and readmit students, Chamberlain encourages existing students to look at other financial aid options that may be available to you here.
The condition of LCMC Health’s Called-to-Care Scholars Program is that recipients will work full time in an eligible paid position at an LCMC Health facility for up to three years. If a student cannot fulfill their work commitment as outlined in LCMC Health’s Program Description and Recipient Agreement, the financial obligation will become the student’s responsibility to repay LCMC Health. The student will have one year to repay their financial obligation at a lower interest rate. If the debt is not paid within the first year, the interest rate will increase and LCMC Health will pursue collection efforts.
Students will be given a Disclosure Statement that outlines their financial and work commitment to LCMC Health each session.

Yes. LCMC Health's Called-to-Care Scholars Program curriculum is offered through Chamberlain’s BSN Degree Hybrid Option, which combines online and on-campus learning at Chamberlain University College of Nursing Jefferson Parish course location at 4224 Houma Boulevard, Suite 600, Metairie, LA 70006. If the student lives out of state, he or she will need to relocate4 to Louisiana in time to begin their first onsite course — the timing of which is dependent upon their individual curriculum plan. Admission representatives can help determine when the student will need to relocate.

2 Students participating in LCMC Health’s Called-to-Care Scholars Program will complete their onsite coursework exclusively at a to be determined location in the New Orleans metropolitan area, pending regulatory approvals. Students who need to enroll in courses with onsite components prior to the to be determined location opening, may have their program progression delayed. Reasons for the new location not opening, or having its opening postponed, include, but are not limited to regulatory approvals being delayed and/or delays in the build-out of the new location.
Students participating in LCMC Health’s Called-to-Care Scholars Program will be enrolled in a hybrid model, which delivers degree coursework via a mix of online and onsite modalities. All nursing simulation and clinical training will be onsite and in-person, while general education, science courses and a portion of the nursing courses without simulation will be delivered online.
Students in the BSN Degree Hybrid Option can access student services in-person and/or online. Students enrolled in the Called-to-Care Scholars Program will receive these services exclusively online and/or at the to be determined location. These services include, but are not limited to, admission services, student services, tutoring, library services, etc.
Chamberlain University will provide students with updates regarding the progress of the to be determined location as they become available.

4 We anticipate that the first cohort of students who enrolled in the September 2021 session will either need to relocate by the January or March 2022 session depending on their individual curriculum plans and regulatory approvals of the new location. The admission and/or student services teams will keep them informed throughout the process so they will know their specific requirements.
