Chamberlain’s Nurse Faculty Fellowship Program: Stewarding the Next Generation of Nurse Educators

The Future of Nursing Report 2030 underscores the global need for nurses and nurse educators to advance health equity. At Chamberlain, the country’s largest nursing school, we believe it’s critical to take a leadership role and create opportunities for novice nurse educators to prepare for teaching in a dynamic, fast-moving society.

We have created one of the first Nurse Faculty Fellowship Programs, a virtual intensive residency with curricula created through the lens of health equity and designed to strengthen leadership preparedness among novice nurse educators.

To facilitate the transition of nurses to the nurse educator role and empower educators to teach and evaluate learning using a multicultural lens that bridges learning to the healthcare needs of society.

Chamberlain University is determined and excited to co-create with our Fellows a healthcare future that is equitable, inclusive, and solutions driven.

The program seeks master’s-prepared nursing faculty who are passionate about creating learning environments using a multicultural lens to keep pace with the healthcare needs of society and advance health equity.
The Fellowship is a 12-month program that leverages a coordinated approach to learning, preparing Fellows for the multifaceted roles of nurse educators.
Fellows partner with a mentor for guidance and personalized learning.

Chamberlain University is committed to addressing racism and fighting for health equity and social justice. The Nurse Faculty Fellowship Program is based on a curriculum that explores healthcare through the multicultural lens of health equity, to prepare Fellows to cultivate and advance health equity and social justice in their future workplaces.

Informed by Society’s Evolving Healthcare Needs

Society’s healthcare needs change over time, and the program will cultivate agility among the Fellows as they face current challenges, including COVID-19, and future epidemics and pandemics.

The Nurse Faculty Fellowship Program has the essential components of a contemporary curriculum, based on the National League for Nursing Core Competencies for Nurse Educators, and informed by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s Essentials and the Future of Nursing 2030 Report: Charting a Path to Achieve Health Equity.
