Ruth Mackenzie, DNP, MSN, RN
Ruthmarie MacKenzie, DNP, MSN, RN is the Director of Campus Programs at Chamberlain University’s Indianapolis campus. Dr. MacKenzie has more than 10 years of combined clinical and academic experience and over 30 years of leadership experience.
Most recently, Dr. MacKenzie served as the associate dean of faculty at Chamberlain University’s Indianapolis campus. She has taught at Chamberlain University’s Addison, Illinois campus where she was the Sigma Theta Tau ambassador, SNA faculty advisor, and clinical and lab coordinator.
Dr. MacKenzie spent the early part of her career as a Medical Surgical Intensive Care staff nurse at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet Illinois and Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. She taught as a clinical adjunct for St. Francis University, Joliet Illinois, and Lewis University, Romeoville Illinois. During her career as a staff nurse, she established mindfulness retreats for staff nurses, mindfulness rooms on units for nurses, and presented about compassion fatigue and nurse burnout at yearly staffing events.
An established member of Sigma Theta Tau, Dr. MacKenzie is also a member of the National League for Nursing, the American Nurses Association, and the American Holistic Nurses Association.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Aurora University, her Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN) from the University of Arizona, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University.
