
Shawn M. Little, DNP, MSN Ed, RN, CNE
Dr. Shawn M. Little is the President for Chamberlain University Atlanta and Stockbridge Campus. Dr. Little brings over 27 years of combined clinical and academic experience to her role. Her experience includes Interim Campus President, Dean of Academic Affairs, Associate Dean of Faculty, and faculty while at Chamberlain University. Prior to joining Chamberlain, Dr. Little served as a faculty member for Southern Crescent Technical College educating LPN students. During her time there, Dr. Little assisted in curriculum development, faculty development, and aided in laying the foundations for a new nursing program.
Dr. Little’s clinical experience includes cardiac telemetry, medical-surgical nursing, pulmonary thoracic medical-surgical nursing, and float nursing. Little received a Nursing Excellence in Leadership award in 2005, the Ron Taylor Award in 2014, and the TEACH Award in 2019.
Dr. Little’s doctorate dissertation was in Compassion Fatigue and the impact of self-care related to home health hospice nurses. She now works with several clinical partners on graduate nurse resiliency and how to increase graduate retention in a pandemic.
Dr. Little’s passion surrounds educating new nurses to be able to learn and grow in an ever changing and demanding health care environment, promoting the nursing profession, and ensuring the future nursing workforce is prepared to provide safe and equitable care.
