First Full Day in Manila!
Today was our first full day in Manila on the International Nursing Service Project trip! We experienced real Filipino food for breakfast, then drove to the Far East School of Nursing, where we met with the nursing students and took a tour of the hospital attached to the school. It was so different compared to our hospitals, where we invest more in air conditioning, decorations, amenities, etc. The hospital and school do not have air conditioning in the hallways, only in the rooms. We then traveled to Fort Santiago, which was a stone fortress, before dinner at Barbaras, a great tourist spot where we watched Filipino traditional dances all night! It is currently 10:52 p.m. here and we have not had sleep for the past 24 hours. Good night from the Philippines! Tomorrow starts at 7:45 a.m.
P.S. Traffic in the Philippines is by far the worst! I will never complain about Chicago traffic again.
Thanks for reading! Keep following our trip updates.
